본 논문은 트라우고트 예니헨이 전개한 윤리 이론의 토대를 명료화하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 그에 따르면, 기독교는 문화를 통해 사회 속에 공적 영향을 미치고 있다. 교회는 그 증대를 위해 노력해야 한다. 이것은 특히 공론장에 참여하여 윤리적 대안을 제시하는 일을 통해 구체화된다. 윤리적 대안은 성서에 근거해야 하고, 이웃 사랑의 계명과 관련성을 가져야 한다. 그리고 비교급의 윤리를 통해 정교화되어야 한다. 교회는 이와 함께 연대성에 기초한 윤리적 실천에 힘써야 한다. 이는 시민사회, 더 나아가 세계시민사회 안에서 정의의 증진을 통해 구현되어야 한다. 또한 교회는 자연 보존을 위한 노력을 통해 미래 세대의 삶의 영위에 도움을 주어야 한다. 예니헨의 윤리적 기획은 공공성과 연대성 증진을 추구하고 있는 한국교회의 이론 정립과 구체적 실천에 공헌할 수 있다. 그 구현을 통해 교회는 사회 개선에 건설적 기여를 하게 될 것이다.

This study aims to clarify the fundamentals of Traugott Jähnichen’s ethics. He emphasized that Christianity influences society through culture. The church must strive to increase its public influence. This can be accomplished by participating in the public sphere and offering ethical alternatives. These alternatives must be based on the Bible. The commandment to love one’s neighbor should form its foundation, and the ethics of the comparative should be used to establish it. The church must also strive to act ethically. These efforts should be based on the concept of solidarity. This can be achieved by promoting justice in civil society and, furthermore, in global civil society. The church must work for future generations. This can be attained through nature preservation. Jähnichen’s idea could help the Korean church, which needs a theory and practice to increase its public influence and strengthen its solidarity activities. By implementing it, the church will make a constructive contribution to society.
