十洲三島의 세계관 속 瀛洲 - 《海內十洲記》를 중심으로

The Cosmology of Yingzhou(瀛洲) in the Shi Zhou San Dao(十洲三島):Focusing on the Hai Nei Shi Zhou Ji(海內十洲記)

본고는 《海內十洲記》를 통해 고대 중국의 해양 중심 세계관을 조명하였다. 특히 十洲三島 중 瀛洲에 대한 구체적 분석을 통해 해양신화가 대륙신화와 어떻게 다른지를 살펴보았다. 먼저 《山海經》과 《해내십주기》를 비교함으로써 《해내십주기》가 해양을 중심으로 한 고대 중국의 독특한 지리적 세계관을 나타내고 있음을 고찰하였다. 三神山(蓬萊, 方丈, 瀛洲) 중에 유일하게 십주에도 포함되는 영주를 통해 해양신화의 특징을 살펴보았는데, 첫째 영주에는 玉醴泉이라고 하는 신비한 샘물이 있어 이를 마시면 장생한다고 하며, 神芝와 仙草 등의 약초가 자란다. 이는 영주가 동해에 위치한 섬들과 마찬가지로 三神山의 특징을 그대로 가지고 있음을 보여준다. 둘째, 영주는 심연의 우주공간으로 신계와 인계를 연결하는 지점으로 해석된다. 影木이라고 하는 우주수가 존재할 뿐 아니라 金巒觀에는 해, 달, 구름, 바람 등 우주의 모습을 재현해 놓고 있어 해양이라는 카오스에서 우주의 코스모스까지 갖춘 세계로 묘사되어 있다. 또한 영주에는 오색구름을 만드는 큰 물고기도 살고 있어 해양 신화의 특징이 더욱 잘 드러난다.

This study examines the ocean-centric worldview of ancient China through the Hai Nei Shi Zhou Ji. It particularly examines how ocean mythology differs from continental mythology through a detailed analysis of Yingzhou among the Shi Zhou San Dao. By comparing the Shan Hai Jing and the Hai Nei Shi Zhou Ji, the study considers how the Hai Nei Shi Zhou Ji represents a unique geographical worldview of ancien't China centered on the ocean. Yingzhou, which is the only one included among both the Three Divine Mountains (Penglai, Fangzhang, Yingzhou) and the Ten Continents(Shi Zhou), is used to explore the characteristics of ocean mythology. Firstly, Yingzhou features a mysterious spring called Yuli Spring(玉醴泉), which is said to grant longevity to those who drink from it, and it is home to medicinal herbs like divine fungi and celestial grass. This demonstrates that Yingzhou, like the islands located in the East Sea, retains the characteristics of the Three Divine Mountains. Secondly, Yingzhou is interpreted as a point connecting the divine realm and the human world, a deep cosmic space. It contains a cosmic tree called Yingmu(影木), and at Jinluan Temple(金巒觀), there are representations of the sun, moon, clouds, and wind, depicting it as an abyssal world that encompasses both the chaos of the ocean and the cosmos of the universe. Additionally, a large fish that creates multicolored clouds lives in Yingzhou, further highlighting the features of ocean mythology.
