인천 배다리 헌책방골목의 지속가능성에 관한 연구

A study on the sustainability of Baedari Secondhand Bookstore Alley in Inchoen

본 연구는 지역주민들의 삶과 기억이 축적된 인천 동구 배다리 헌책방골목의 가치를 지역문화적 관점에서 조명하고, 운영자·이용자·지역사회의 상호작용을 통해 지속가능성을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 인천 배다리 헌책방골목의 특징·가치·역할을 고찰하고 SWOT 분석하여, 지속가능성 확보를 위한 핵심 요인으로 자립적 운영기반 확보, 로컬플랫폼 역량 강화, 공공 지원체계 구축을 가설적으로 도출하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 배다리 헌책방지기를 중심으로 7개 관련 분야에서 총 16명과 심층 인터뷰하여 구체적인 지속 가능 방안을 탐색했다. 연구 결과, 자립적 운영기반 확보 부분에서는 취향공동체를 기반으로 안정된 헌책 수급과 주체적 고객층을 형성하고 상품·공간 특성화 전략과 SNS를 기반으로 하는 홍보 역량이 필요한 것으로 분석되었다. 로컬플랫폼 역량 강화 부분에서는 골목상권 경쟁력과 문화거점 기능을 강화하고 책방협의체 활동과 에코뮤지엄 기능을 확장하는 것이 요구된다. 공공 지원체계 구축 부분에서는 공공 인프라 구축 및 헌책방지기를 중심으로 헌책방골목의 가치를 드러내고 판매에 집중하는 책문화 활성화 사업과 지역 문화생태계·공동체의 연속성을 유지·증진하는 골목상권 활성화 사업이 필요하며, 나아가 공공공간 조성과 민·관 거버넌스를 기반으로 책문화 네트워크 플랫폼으로 확장될 수 있음을 확인했다.

The purpose of this study is to shed light on the value of Baedari Used Bookstore Alley in Dong-gu, Incheon, where the lives and memories of residents are accumulated. We approach this from a local cultural perspective, emphasizing the crucial role of the community in the alley's sustainability. By examining the characteristics, values, and roles of Baedari Used Bookstore Alley in Incheon and conducting a SWOT analysis, we hypothesized that securing an independent operating base, strengthening local platform capabilities, and establishing a public support system were key factors in achieving sustainability. To explore this further, we conducted in-depth interviews with a total of 16 people from seven related fields, focusing on Baedari Used Book Prevention, to identify specific sustainability measures. As a result of the study, it was analyzed that in terms of securing an independent operating base, stable supply and demand of used books based on the community of taste, forming an independent customer base, product and space characterization strategies, and public relations capabilities based on SNS are necessary. In the area of strengthening the capabilities of the local platform, it is required to strengthen the competitiveness of alleyways and cultural hub functions, and to expand the activities of the bookstore consultative body and the functions of eco-museum. In the part of establishing a public support system, it was confirmed that a book culture revitalization project that reveals the value of used bookstore alleys and focuses on sales, focusing on building public infrastructure and preventing used books, and a project to revitalize alleyways that maintain and promote the continuity of local cultural ecosystems and communities are needed. This underscores the crucial role of public support in the sustainability of Baedari Used Bookstore Alley, and the need for everyone's involvement. Furthermore, it can be expanded to a book culture network platform based on the creation of public spaces and public-private governance.
