This paper explores the question of “how symbols serve education” by discussing the educational value of symbols, the mission of symbol education, and the pathways for implementing symbol education. It argues that symbols are carriers for expressing information, tools for cognizing the world, and media for inheriting culture. Symbol education focuses on cultivating students' symbol awareness and ability to use symbols; its missions include promoting the all-round development of students and undertaking the inheritance and innovation of culture. The pathways for symbol education mainly include: taking the integration of symbol education into subject teaching as the main approach, building new platforms through symbol education characteristic courses, innovating the methods of symbol education with artificial intelligence, and advancing symbol education via symbol education communities.
从符号的教育价值、符号教育的使命和符号教育的路径进行论述,对“符号何以教育”进行了回答,认为符号是表达信息的载体、认知世界的工具和传承文化的媒介;符号教育重在培养学生的符号意识和运用符号的能力,致力于促进学生的全面发展和承担着文化传承与创新的使命。符号教育的路径主要包括以学科教学渗透符号教育为主路、以符号教育特色课程打造新阵地、以人工智能创新符号教育的方式、以符号教育共同体推动符号教育。
