천전리 명문과 암각화의 효과적인 표면 성분 분석을 위한 보정계수 및 풍화지수 연구

Correction Factor and Weathering Index for Effective Surface Composition Analysis of Cheonjeon-ri Petroglyphs

천전리 명문과 암각화(川前里銘文과 巖刻畵)는 암석을 구성하는 광물 가운데 방해석(Calcite, CaCO3)이 물과의 반응으로 인해 표면에 공극이 발생하는 퇴적암의 풍화 특징이 나타난다. 2009년에 암석학적 연구가 수행된 후, 10년간 물성평가가 부족하여 주기적인 분석이 요구되었다. 따라서 2022년 주암면 세척 후 데이터와 2024년 분석 데이터를 바탕으로 주암면의 함량(wt.%)변화양상을 파악하였다. 또한, 회귀분석을 통해 휴대용 XRF 분석 데이터를 정량화 할 수 있는 보정계수를 산출해내었다. 분석 결과, 풍화지시원소인 Ca의 경우, 0.94 이상의 결정계수를 갖는 것으로 확인되어 비교적 정확한 정량적 평가를 수행할 수 있을 것으로 확인된다. 결정계수를 바탕으로 만든 풍화지수를 통해 주암면의 풍화심도를 파악한 결과, 대체로 5등급 약 2.0 mm 초과의 풍화심도를 가지고 있는 것을 확인하였다. 이는 문화유산의 주기적인 모니터링 자료 뿐만 아니라 석조 문화유산의 맞춤형 풍화지수 연구에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

The Cheonjeon-ri petroglyphs exhibit the weathering characteristics of sedimentary rock, in which pores form on the surface due to a reaction between water and calcite (CaCO3), one of the minerals that make up the rock. Following a petrological study was conducted in 2009, there was a lack of physical property assessments over the following ten years, highlighting the need for periodic analysis. Therefore, based on the data collected after the cleaning of the main rock surface in 2022 and the analysis conducted in 2024, the changes in composition (wt.%) of the main rock surface were identified. In addition, a correction factor for quantifying portable XRF analysis data was calculated through regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, the weathering indicator element Ca was found to have a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.94, indicating that relatively accurate quantitative evaluation is possible. Based on the weathering index derived from the coefficient of determination, the weathering depth of the main rock surface was found to generally correspond to Grade 5, with a depth exceeding approximately 2.0 mm. This is expected to contribute not only to the periodic monitoring data of cultural heritage but also to the development of customized weathering indices for stone cultural heritage.
