본 연구는 문제해결능력이 대인관계에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 분석함으로써 헤어 미용종사자가 직장 내 동료와의 긍정적인 대인관계 유지에 따른 기초 자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 조사대상의 일반적 특성에서 연령은 20대가 47.5%, 결혼 여부는 미혼이 64.0%, 최종학력은 대학교 재학/졸업이 56.0%, 직급은 인턴/파트너가 45.5%, 월급은 200만 원 미만이 6.0%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 문제해결능력이 대인관계에 미치는 영향에서는 부분적으로 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 평가 및 반영, 문제인식, 해결책 수행이 높아질수록 관계적 성향, 사회적 성향, 표현적 성향도 높아지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그 중에서도 해결책 수행과 평가 및 반영이 높을수록 사회적 성향도 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 어떠한 문제가 일어났을 때 해결책들을 체계적으로 평가하고 장·단점을 비교분석하며 근거를 토대로 문제해결방법을 찾을수록 동료들에게 부탁받은 일은 끝까지 해내려고 하며, 직원들의 입장이나 처지를 잘 이해해주는 것으로 나타났다. 이처럼 헤어 미용 종사자의 해결책 수행의 문제해결능력은 사회적 성향인 대인관계에서도 중요한 영향을 미친다는 것을 시사한다.
