해방기 출판계와 편집자 조풍연

The role of editor Cho Poong-yeon and the publishing world during the liberation period

본고는 해방기 을유문화사를 중심으로 편집자 조풍연의 위상을 살펴보고자 한다. 해방 직후 창립된 을유문화사는 올해 창립 80주년을 맞이하는 출판사로 지금까지 수많은 출판물을 펴내 왔다. 조풍연은 해방 전부터 언론계와 출판계에서 활동하고 있었고 편집자 생활은 『문장』에서 시작되었다. 『문장』시절에 맺은 인연은 을유문화사 시절에도 중요한 역할을 하였다. 문장사와 을유문화사의 연속성은 조풍연을 매개로 설명할 수 있을 것이다. 편집자 조풍연은 저작권을 존중하면서 번역서를 비롯한 여러 단행본을 펴냈고 잡지 『학풍』을 주간하기도 하였다. 일반적으로 잡지는 정기간행물에 분류되지만 시사 문제를 다룬 종합지와 달리 『학풍』은 서적에 가까운 잡지였다. 조풍연은 다양한 특집과 논문, 명저해제, 수필을 중심으로 『학풍』을 편집하였다.

This paper aims to examine the status of editor Cho Poong-yeon, focusing on the history of Eulyu culture during the liberation period. Founded immediately after liberation, Eulyoo publishing Co.Ltd is a publisher that celebrates its 80th anniversary this year and has published numerous publications so far. Cho Poong-yeon was active in journalism and publishing before liberation, and his career as an editor began in Sentence. The relationship made during the period of MUNJANG also played an important role in the history of Eulyoo publishing Co.Ltd. The continuity of Eulyoo publishing Co.Ltd can be explained by Cho Poong-yeon's heat medium. Editor Cho Poong-yeon published several books, including translations, while respecting copyright, and also the magazine HACK POONG. In general, magazines are classified as periodicals, but unlike general magazines that deal with current affairs, HACK POONG was a magazine close to a book. Cho Poong-yeon edited HACK POONG focusing on various specials, papers, dissolution of masterpieces, and essays.
