한국과 베트남 리메이크 영화 속에 나타난 문화 요소 고찰 - <완벽한 타인>과 <Tiệc trăng máu (블러디 문 파티)>를 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 2018년 개봉한 한국 영화 <완벽한 타인>과 2020년 개봉한 베트남 영화 <Tiệc Trăng Máu>(블러디 문 파티)를 중심으로, 문화 요소를 비교·분석함으로써 한국과 베트남 양국 간의 공통의 문화 요소와 대조적 문화 요소를 탐색하는 데있다. 연구 결과, 동일한 원작 시나리오를 사용했음에도 불구하고 한국판은 절제된 연기와 차분한 연출로 심리적 긴장을 정교하게 축적하는 반면, 베트남판은 코미디적 대사 배치를 통해 관객과의 정서적 거리를 좁힌다. 이는 체면과 사생활을 중시하여 불편한 진실의 폭로를 금기시하는 한국 문화와, 웃음과 ‘이화위귀(以和爲貴)’로 갈등을 완화하는 베트남 문화의 가치 차이를 반영한다. 더 나아가 배경과 시공간, 스마트폰 사생활 인식, 집들이 선물, 음식 등 일상문화 요소들도 상징적으로 대비된다. 마지막으로 클라이맥스에서의 발화와 감정 표출은 언어가 가치·관계 규범·감정 전략을 비추는 ‘문화의 거울’임을 드러낸다. 두 영화 속에 나타난 문화 요소의 차이를 분석함으로써 단순히 등장인물과 서사를 이해하는 데 그치지 않고, 각 국가에서 문화가 의사소통 방식과 사회적 관계 형성에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지를 살펴볼 수 있다. 이러한 특성에 대한 이해는 외국어 학습자들이 실제 언어 사용 맥락에 공감하고, 외국어 활용 시 발생할 수 있는 오해를 줄이는 데 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

This study aimed to explore the cultural similarities and differences between South Korea and Vietnam by comparing and analyzing cultural elements in the Korean and Vietnamese remakes of the film Perfect Strangers. The South Korean remake Intimate Strangers (완벽한 타인) was released in 2018, while the Vietnamese film Bloody Moon Party (Tiệc Trăng Máu) opened in 2020. Despite using the same original screenplay, the Korean version builds psychological tension through restrained acting and calm direction, while the Vietnamese version narrows the emotional distance between the audience and the film through comedic dialogue. This reflects a difference in values—Koreans value social image and privacy and avoid exposing uncomfortable truths, while the Vietnamese use laughter and “Ihwa-wi-gwi” to alleviate conflict. Furthermore, everyday cultural elements such as background, time, space, smartphone privacy awareness, housewarming gifts, and food are symbolically contrasted. Finally, speech and emotional expressions at the climax reveal that language serves as a “mirror of culture,” reflecting values, relational norms, and emotional strategies. By analyzing cultural differences between the two films, one can go beyond simply understanding the characters and narratives to examine how culture influences communication methods and the formation of social relationships in each country. Such understanding could help foreign language learners grasp real-life language usage contexts and reduce misunderstandings in interpersonal communication.
