Analysis of community activity experience of middle-aged women : Application of Giorgi phenomenological research methodology

Objective: This study conducted in-depth interviews with eight middle-aged women with community activity experience to determine individual and subjective perceptions of community activity experience. Methods: This study conducted in-depth interviews with eight middle-aged women about their experiences in community activities and analyzed them using Giorgi's phenomenological research method to derive the meaning and essential structure of community activities. Results: As a result of the study, the essential structure of the community activity experience experienced by middle-aged women was 3 essential themes, 11 subtopics, and 25 meaning units. The essential themes were a sense of belonging through strengthening social connections and community spirit, a sense of belonging through strengthening social connections and community spirit, and a sense of belonging through strengthening social connections and community spirit. Conclusions: We hope that middle-aged women in the hometown can be utilized as basic data for community support projects and technology development.
