An Analysis of Factors Affecting Social Workers’ Quality of Life Across Age Groups : Application of Alderfer’s ERG Theory

Objective: This study applied Alderfer’s ERG theory to examine the factors affecting social workers’ quality of life, with a particular emphasis on identifying determinants that differ across age groups. Methods: A survey was conducted with 331 married social workers in Chungcheongbuk-do. Multiple regression analyses were used to examine ERG-related factors by age. Results: Age groups showed distinct ERG needs and quality of life factors. Optimism, goal orientation, and support variables had varying effects depending on the age group. Conclusions: Results emphasize the need for age-specific support strategies and policy interventions to enhance social workers’ quality of life.
