Objectives: This study aims to examine the academic self-efficacy, metacognition, and learning flow of dental hygiene students, as well as to identify the factors influencing learning flow. Methods: A self-reported survey was conducted among third- and fourth-year dental hygiene students in the Gyeonggi region. A total of 150 valid responses were collected and analyzed using hierarchical multiple regression to determine the factors affecting learning flow. Results: The subjects' average academic self-efficacy was 3.42 points, metacognition was 3.73 points, and learning flow was 3.36 points. respectively. Hierarchical regression analysis identified academic self-efficacy and metacognition as significant influencing factors, with an explanatory power of 59.9%. Conclusions: To enhance the learning flow and academic self-efficacy of dental hygiene students, effective teaching and learning strategies, along with diverse interdisciplinary education programs, are necessary.
