Analysis of Trends in Digital Technology-Based Oral Health Care Programs: Focusing on VR, AR and Application

Objectives: The purposes of this study were to analyze the trends in domestic digital technology-based oral healthcare program research, present future research directions, and provide evidence and necessity. Methods: This study searched domestic literature published from January 2017 to January 2025 through KISS, RISS, DBpia, and Scholar; VR, AR, application, and oral were used as the search keywords. The final five documents were selected for analysis. Results: Of the five selected documents, the number of documents has increased relatively since 2024. The digital technology-based oral healthcare programs’ intervention in dental practice has shown significant beneficial effects, as reported in three studies. Conclusions: In this study, it is significant that information and effectiveness were provided by analyzing research trends in digital technology-based oral healthcare programs, thereby providing the basis for clinical application.
