한 교사교육자의 성인학습자 논문지도 전략에 대한 자문화기술지

Autoethnography of a Teacher Educator's Strategy in Teaching Adult Learners' Thesis

이 연구의 목적은 성인학습자의 전문성 발달과 계속교육을 도모했던 한 교사교육자의 논문지도 전략을 자문화기술지로 조명하는 데 있다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교사교육자인 나는 효과적인 논문 지도를 위해 교육대학원의 제도적 조건과 시간적 맥락에 교사를 위치시키는 전략을 구사하였다. 둘째, 교사교육자인 나는 공동체 차원에서 교사들이 협력적으로 석사학위논문을 쓸 수 있는 전문적 학문공동체를 유지하고 관리하였다. 셋째, 지도교수인 나는 내용 차원에서 학습자의 주체성을 살리는 논문 주제를 추천하였고, 방법 차원에서 연구문제의 해결을 위한 최적인 연구방법을 안내하였다. 넷째, 사제지간 상호작용 차원에서는 학문적 글쓰기의 방법과 절차를 직접적으로 가르쳤으며, 개별 성인학습자의 특성을 고려하는 맞춤형 논문지도 전략을 구사하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 교사교육자의 논문지도 전략을 교수자의 맥락에서 탐구함으로써 성인학습자인 교사의 전문성 발달과 계속교육을 촉진하고, 성인학습 지도에 대한 이론적 및 실천적 지식을 확장하는 데 기여할 것이다.

The aim of this paper is to shed light on the strategy of a teacher educator who attempted to promote professional development and continuing education of adult learners through autoethnography. The results of the study are summarized as follows. Firstly, the teacher educator used a strategy of positioning teachers in the institutional conditions and temporal context of the graduate school of education for effective thesis guidance. Secondly, I as a teacher educator maintained and managed a professional academic community where teachers could collaboratively write master’s theses at the community level. Thirdly, I recommended thesis topics that would enhance learners’ subjectivity at the content level to the teachers, and guided them on the optimal research method for solving the research question at the method level. Fourthly, in terms of professor-postgraduate student interaction, the teacher educator directly demonstrated the methods and procedures of academic writing and used a customized thesis guidance strategy that considered the characteristics of individual adult learners. This paper will contribute to realizing professional development and continuing education of teachers as adult learners and expanding theoretical and practical knowledge on adult learning guidance by exploring the thesis guidance strategies of a teacher educator.
