The study explores how incorporating old pop songs into English classes enhances foreign language enjoyment among older adult Korean women. Conducted with four participants over 16 weeks, the study found that using familiar pop songs not only improved their English skills but also boosted motivation, self-esteem, and social connections. The participants experienced both language-related and socially oriented enjoyment, emphasising the importance of carefully selecting materials and designing age-appropriate classes. The findings suggest that old pop songs can effectively engage older learners, enhancing their linguistic proficiency and psychological well-being. This approach offers a promising strategy for including older adult learners in foreign language education, contributing to their overall enjoyment and participation.
