중국 조선족 남성무용 연구 : 19세기 후반부터 21세기 초반까지의 작품분석

Research on Chinese Korean Male Dance: Artistic Features from the Late 19th to the Early 21st Century

본 연구는 19세기 후반부터 21세기 초반까지 중국 조선족 남성무용의 발전 경로와 예술적 특징을 규명하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 대표 작품을 선정하여 문헌연구, 공연 및 영상 분석, 민속지적 접근, 이론적 틀 적용을 병행하였다. 연구 결과, 조선족 남성무용은 노동과 사냥에서 기원한 동작을 바탕으로 항일 전쟁기에는 공동체 결속과 투쟁 정신을, 사회주의 혁명기와 개혁개방기에는 사회주의적 이념과 전통·현대의 융합을, 21세기 글로벌화 시대에는 민족 정체성과 세계적 소통을 표현하였다. 이러한 특징은 “동정(動靜)의 결합”이라는 미학적 원리와 현대적 무대미학을 통해 구체화되었다. 조선족 남성무용은 민족 정체성 강화, 사회·정치적 맥락의 반영, 글로벌 문화 교류라는 다층적 의미를 지니며, 기존 여성무용 중심 연구의 한계를 보완하고 학문적 확장 가능성을 제공한다.

This study aims to examine the developmental trajectory and artistic characteristics of Chinese Korean male dance from the late 19th century to the early 21st century. Representative works were selected and analyzed through a combination of literature review, performance and video analysis, ethnographic observation, and theoretical approaches. The findings indicate that Korean male dance, originating from labor and hunting movements, expressed communal solidarity and resistance during the anti-Japanese war period, reflected socialist ideology and the fusion of tradition and modernity during the socialist revolution and reform era, and emphasized ethnic identity and global communication in the 21st century. These characteristics are embodied through the aesthetic principle of “the integration of stillness and movement” and the adoption of modern stage aesthetics. Chinese Korean male dance thus serves as a cultural text that strengthens ethnic identity, reflects socio-political contexts, and fosters global cultural exchange. Moreover, this study complements the existing female-centered research and provides new academic perspectives and possibilities for interdisciplinary expansion.
