Judith Butler's Ethics of Vulnerability and Social Work Practice

본 연구는 주디스 버틀러의 취약성의 윤리학을 근거로 하여 취약성에 관한 철학적이고 윤리적인 논의를 펼쳐보고 사회복지실천의 적용 가능성을 모색하는 것이다. 우리는사회복지실천현장에서 다양한 형태의 취약성을 경험하고 있지만 취약성이 또 다른 사회복지실천의 길이 될 수 있다는 사실은 간과한다. 왜냐하면 취약성에 대한 철학적이고 윤리적인 성찰이 이루어지고 있지 않기 때문이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 주디스 버틀러의취약성의 윤리학에 주목하여 취약성의 윤리학을 이해하기 위한 사회복지사의 윤리적 책무, 취약성을 바라보는 다양한 방식들, 사회복지실천의 시선, 버틀러의 취약성 개념의 혁신적 측면에 대해 고찰하였고 버틀러의 취약성의 윤리학을 토대로 사회복지실천의 적용가능성을 위한 과제를 제시하였다.

This study aims to develop a philosophical and ethical discussion onvulnerability based on Judith Butler's ethics of vulnerability and explore thepossibility of its application to social work practice. We experience various forms ofvulnerability in social work practice fields, but we overlook the fact that vulnerabilitycan be another path for social work practice. This is because although studies onvulnerability are being conducted at various levels, they do not lead to philosophicaland ethical reflections on vulnerability. To this end, this study examined the reasonsfor focusing on Judith Butler's ethics of vulnerability, the ethical responsibilities ofsocial workers to understand the ethics of vulnerability, various ways of looking atvulnerability, the perspectives of social work practice, and the innovative aspects ofButler's concept of vulnerability, and suggested tasks for the possibility of applying Butler's ethics of vulnerability to social work practice.
