돌봄스트레스가 부모 우울에 미치는 영향과 사회자본의조절효과: 성인 발달장애 자녀를 돌보는 부모를 중심으로

Caregiving Stress and Parental Depression: The Moderating Effect of Social Capital in Parents of Adults with Developmental Disabilities

본 연구는 성인 발달장애 자녀를 둔 부모의 돌봄스트레스가 우울에 미치는 영향을분석하고, 이 관계에서 사회자본의 조절적 역할을 통계적으로 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 전북특별자치도 내 장애인복지관 등 관련 기관의 협조를 받아 성인 발달장애자녀를 돌보는 부모 300명을 편의표집하여 자기기입식 설문조사를 실시하였다. 총 230부를 회수하였고, 불성실 응답을 제외한 225부를 최종 분석에 활용하였다. 자료 분석은SPSS 27.0과 PROCESS Macro(ver. 4.2) Model 1을 사용하여 조절효과를 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 돌봄스트레스가 증가할수록 우울이 유의하게 증가하였다. 둘째, 사회자본 하위요인 중 신뢰가 높을수록 우울은 낮았다. 셋째, 네트워크 수준이 높을수록 우울이유의하게 낮았다. 넷째, 사회자본의 하위요인 중 신뢰만이 돌봄스트레스와 우울 간의 관계를 완충(조절)하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 부모의 우울 예방을 위한돌봄스트레스 대응 전략과 지역사회 기반의 사회자본(특히 신뢰)의 형성과 활용을 촉진하기 위한 실천적·정책적 제언을 제시하였다.

This study aimed to analyze the impact of caregiving stress on depressionamong parents of adult children with developmental disabilities and to statisticallyverify the moderating role of social capital in this relationship. To achieve this, aself-report survey was conducted on 300 parents caring for adult children withdevelopmental disabilities, who were conveniently sampled with the cooperation ofdisability welfare centers and related organizations in Jeollabuk-do SpecialSelf-Governing Province. A total of 230 questionnaires were collected, and 225responses, excluding insincere ones, were used for the final analysis. Data analysiswas performed using SPSS 27.0 and PROCESS Macro (ver. 4.2) Model 1 to test themoderating effects. The analysis results are as follows: First, as caregiving stressincreased, depression significantly increased. Second, among the sub-factors ofsocial capital, higher trust was associated with lower depression. Third, a higherlevel of social network was significantly associated with lower depression. Fourth,only trust, among the sub-factors of social capital, was found to buffer (moderate)the relationship between caregiving stress and depression. Based on these findings,practical and policy suggestions were provided for developing caregiving stresscoping strategies to prevent parental depression and for promoting the formationand utilization of community-based social capital (especially trust).
