A Study on Motion Bed Design

Humans spent thousands of years thinking about how to sleep comfortably, and as a result, they began using beds and mattresses. Korea's traditional bedrooms are in the style of ondol. Recently, beds have become an important item in residential spaces due to apartment life. The age groups that use beds are diversified, and the development of IOT technology is being newly developed as functional beds. A motion bed is a product that uses an electric motor and is a functional bed that allows you to easily adjust the angle of your knees or backrests with a remote control or an app. This study developed a new motion bed that aims to relax and relieve fatigue and tension through deep sleep. In particular, we designed the shapes and functions necessary for good sleep by reflecting the changes in lifestyle and the trends of the times. The design concept made it possible to modularize the frame made of cloth and wood by attaching and detaching it as requested by the user so that the space of the bed headboard may be wrapped in order to provide a comfortable sense of stability. In addition, the aesthetics that can hide the internal frame devices through the height movement of the motion bed mattress was emphasized. As an accessory function around the bed, lighting and shelves were applied to reflect convenience. A person spends a long time in bed. Through the development of motion beds, we hope to develop the domestic motion bed furniture industry and create a comfortable sleeping environment.
