목적: 본 연구는 캄보디아 출신 결혼이민자와 한국인 시어머니의 담화를 중심으로 고부간 갈등 상황에서 나타나는 논쟁 담화 전략과 담화적 특성을 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 방법: <다문화 고부열전> 캄보디아 며느리 편에서 명시적·문화적 갈등이 드러난 54개 담화를 추출하여 비판적 담화 분석의 방법으로 연구를 진행하였다. 결과: 고부간 논쟁 담화에서 주장 및 반론 제기, 정당화, 감정적 호소 및 관계 중심 전략, 회피 전략이 반복적으로 등장하였다. 시어머니는 권위적 태도, 지역 사회 기준, 가족 내 역할을 강조하고, 캄보디아 며느리는 다양한 방식으로 자신의 정체성을 표현하고 시어머니의 권위와 통제에 직간접적으로 저항하고 있었다. 결론: 고부의 담화 전략은 다문화가족 내 권력 불균형과 문화적 충돌이라는 사회구조적 맥락을 반영한다. 다문화가족의 담화 갈등 해소를 위해서는 문화 간 차이를 이해하고, 정체성 협상을 반영한 상호 소통 전략 교육이 이루어져야 할 것이다.
Purpose: This study aims to analyze the characteristics of argumentative discourse in the <Multicultural In-Law Wars>, focusing on conflict situations between Cambodian marriage immigrant daughters-in-law and their Korean mothers-in-law. Methods: Fifty-four discourse instances revealing explicit and cultural conflicts were extracted from the Cambodian daughter-in-law episodes and analyzed using Critical Discourse Analysis(CDA). Results: The argumentative discourse frequently involved claims and counterclaims, justification, emotional appeals, relationship-centered strategies, and avoidance. Mothers-in-law emphasized authority, community norms, and family roles, while Cambodian daughters-in-law expressed their identities in diverse ways and directly or indirectly resisted the authority and control of their mothers-in-law. Conclusion: These discourse strategies reflect the socio- structural context of power imbalance and cultural clashes within multicultural families. To reduce discourse conflicts, education promoting understanding of cultural differences and communication strategies incorporating identity negotiation is necessary.
