한국어교육에서 현대시를 활용한 문화 교육의 방향에 관한 연구 - 문화의 유동성, 생성성, 복합성을 중심으로

A Study on the Direction of Cultural Education Utilizing Modern Poetry in Korean Language Education : Focusing on the Fluidity, Creativity, and Complexity of Culture

목적: 이 연구는 한국어교육에서 현대시를 활용한 문화 교육의 방향을 제안하는 데 목적을 둔다. 방법: 먼저 한국어 교육과정과 교재, 선행 연구를 대상으로 시를 활용한 문화 교육의 현황을 검토하였다. 여기에서 파악된 문제의 극복을 위해 시에 결부되는 문화의 속성을 구체화할 필요가 있다고 판단하였으며, 그 실행 결과를 토대로 문화 교육의 실천 구도를 논구하였다. 결과: 시를 활용한 문화 교육은 시에 투영된 문화 내용, 사유 및 정서 표현 방식과 밀착한 언어문화, 한국 문화유산으로서의 작품이라는 세 범주에서 전개되어 왔다. 이들은 교육적 의의가 있지만 한국 문화를 단편적인 것으로 환원하고 문화의 상상적 성격과 독자의 구성적 이해를 경시한다는 한계가 있다. 이에 따라 시를 통해 구현되는 문화의 속성이 시간적 적층과 유동성, 현실의 재주조(再鑄造)와 생성성, 상호문화적 교섭과 복합성임을 밝히고, 이를 토대로 각 범주들의 방향성을 재정립하였다. 결론: 이상의 논의를 바탕으로 문화 교육의 실천 체계를 목표, 대상, 방법 층위에서 제안하였다. 문화의 속성과 범주를 각각 목표와 대상 층위의 근거로 삼고, 그 하위에 방법 층위를 두었다.

Purpose: This study aims to propose directions for cultural education utilizing modern poetry in Korean language education. Methods: First, we reviewed the current state of cultural education utilizing poetry by examining the current Korean language curriculum, Korean language textbooks, and previous studies. To overcome the problems identified here, we theoretically clarified the cultural attributes associated with poetry and proposed a practical framework for cultural education based on this. Results: Cultural education utilizing poetry has been developed around three cultural categories: cultural content reflected in poetry, ways of expressing thoughts and emotions closely related to language culture, and works as Korean cultural heritage. While these have educational significance, they have limitations in that they reduce Korean culture to a fragmentary form and disregard the imaginative nature of culture and the reader’s constructive understanding. Accordingly, this study clarifies that the attributes of culture embodied in modern poetry are temporal stratification and fluidity, the recasting and generativity of reality, and intercultural interaction and complexity, and based on this, it reestablishes the directionality of each category. Conclusion: To realize the attributes of culture discussed in this study, the orientation and system of cultural education must be restructured. Accordingly, a practical system for cultural education utilizing modern poetry is proposed at the levels of goals, targets, and methods.
