Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 33 years ago, the influence of the Korean Wave (Hallyu) in Vietnam has significantly impacted the younger generation. This is particularly evidenced by a marked increase in student interest and enrollment in Korean language majors. This study aims to survey the current status of Korean language learners in Vietnam and analyze the role of Korean films and television dramas in shaping student motivation to major in the subject.
