A Historical Examination and Contemporary Enlightenment of Chinese Culture in Promoting the “Second Integration” during the Yan'an Period

During the Yan'an period, Chinese Culture served as a significant platform for the Communist Party of China (CPC) in exploring the integration of the basic principles of Marxism with China's excellent traditional culture. The proposition of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context, the interpretation and promotion of China's excellent traditional culture, along with emphasizing the national character, scientific nature, and popular character of culture, constituted the theoretical content of the “Second Integration” discussed in Chinese Culture. The journal condensed practical experience in developing the “Second Integration” from dimensions such as political guarantee, theoretical guidance, logical orientation, and fundamental methods. It enlightens the CPC in the new era to strengthen the Party's comprehensive leadership, adhere to the guidance of Marxist theory, promote innovation in cultural forms and content, and practice the people-centered development philosophy when advancing the “Second Integration.”
