Andropause is a clinical syndrome caused by age-related decline in testosterone and androgen receptor (AR) signaling, leading to sexual dysfunction, muscle weakness, and metabolic imbalance. This study evaluated the effects of ginseng berry extract (GBE) (SIRTBERRYTM) on androgen-related pathways in a rat model of andropause. Male Sprague- Dawley rats at mid-life were orally administered GBE at two different doses for four weeks, and hormone metabolism together with androgen-related molecular markers were analyzed. GBE treatment enhanced testosterone levels and improved the testosterone-to-estrogen ratio, while also increasing the number of AR-positive cells and AR mRNA expression in both reproductive and skeletal muscle tissues. These findings suggest that GBE promotes androgen signaling and supports tissue function, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic option for andropause-associated symptoms.
