대산면 당산·숲정이의 공간논리와 재난완충 기능 : 면(面) 단위 통합 분석

Spatial Logic and Hazard-Mitigation Functions of Dangsan Shrines and Windbreak Groves (Supjeong-i) in Daesan-myeon : A Township-Scale Integrated Analysis

본 연구는 전북 고창군 대산면을 대상으로 전통 비보경관(당산·숲정이·석물·연못)의 전수 인벤토리와 GIS·공간통계, 단기 미기후 계측, 정월 의례 민속지리 분석을 통합하여 면(面) 단위의 기능–상징–제도 연계를 해명하였다. 대산면 15개 법정리·74개 자연마을 중 37개 마을에서 비보 요소가 현존하며, 공간 중첩 결과 수구(물길 출입부)와 지형유도 바람길 주변, 특히 서·북서 노출 방향에 비보의 전진 배치가 두드러졌다. 좌청룡·우백호 결절에는 나무·돌 당산의 쌍점 배치가 빈번했고, 숲정이는 수구 관쇄와 방풍의 물리적 완충을 담당하였다. 이에 근거하여 본 연구는 전통지식을 자연기반해법(NbS) 기준과 접목한 평가·설계 프레임을 제안하고, 우선 보전 구역 설정, 단계적 복원(새 당산 지정·식재 포함), 의례–경관 동시 복원, 주민–지자체 거버넌스 및 연례 모니터링 지표 운영 등 실천적 정책·설계 지침을 제시한다. 또한 대산면 비보경관의 공간규칙과 의례 네트워크를 근거로, 주민–지자체 협력 하에 보호수 지정·수구 관쇄·새 당산 식재 등 우선 보전·복원 과제를 단계적으로 추진하고 자연기반해법(NbS) 기준과 연계한 마을–면 단위 정책·교육·관광 프로그램으로 확장할 수 있는 지역사회 활용 모델을 제시한다.

This study analyzes Daesan-myeon (Gochang, Korea) as a vernacular “bibo” landscape by combining a full village inventory with GIS/spatial analysis, short-term microclimate logging, and ethnography of Jeongwol rituals. Of 74 settlements, 37 retain bibo elements—arboreal/stone dangsan, windbreak groves (supjeong-i), ponds, and markers. Spatial overlays show consistent co-location with opened water outlets (sugu) and terrain-driven wind corridors, with forward placement toward W–NW exposure and paired nodes along the Blue Dragon/White Tiger ridge arms. Ritual calendars (taboos, obang perambulation, geollip fundraising) function as boundary-stitching networks that reinforce vulnerable directions. Civil works since the late 20th century concentrated losses along river and boundary corridors, whereas protected-tree designation and original-site markers sustain interior gateways. We propose an NbS-aligned assessment frame to prioritize conservation, target restoration of lost nodes, and couple ritual–landscape revival as township-scale safety and education infrastructure.
