문화적 혼종성 측면에서의 K-POP의 미래 : 혼성그룹 '올데이 프로젝트'를 중심으로

The Future of K-POP in Terms of Cultural Hybridity : Focused on the Co-ed Group 'ALLDAY PROJECT'

본 연구는 데뷔 직후 유튜브의 글로벌 트렌딩 1위와 멜론 차트 1위를 기록한 5인조 혼성그룹 올데이 프로젝트를 사례로 하여 문화적 혼종성 측면에서 K-POP의 양상과 미래의 양상을 분석하였다. 연구방법으로는 질적 사례연구를 채택하고, 분석틀로는 호미 바바의 문화혼종성 이론을 적용하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, '제3공간과 양가성' 측면에서 올데이 프로젝트는 기존 K-POP의 젠더 구분과 장르 경계를 해체하는 새로운 문화 공간을 창출하고 있다. 둘째, '모방과 번역' 측면에서 기존 K-POP의 형식을 따르면서도 멤버들의 서로 다른 문화적 배경이 결합되어 새로운 의미를 부여하고 있다. 셋째, '차이의 정치와 수행성' 측면에서 재벌가 자녀, 현대무용가, 한국계 미국인 안무가, 힙합 래퍼, 서바이벌 프로그램 출신 등 다양한 배경을 전략적으로 활용하여 성별에 구애받지 않는 새로운 그룹 모델을 제시하고 있다. 넷째, '시간성과 역사성, 저항과 전복' 측면에서 1990년대 혼성그룹의 전통을 단순히 되살리는 것이 아니라 현재적 관점에서 창조적으로 재해석하여 K-POP의 미래 방향을 제시하고 있다. 이러한 연구 결과는 K-POP이 다양한 정체성이 교차하는 혼종적 플랫폼으로 진화하고 있음을 보여주며, 미래 K-POP의 포용적 발전 방향을 시사한다.

This study analyzed cultural hybridity in contemporary K-POP through ALLDAY PROJECT, a five-member co-ed group that achieved YouTube global trending #1 and Melon chart #1 after debut. Using Homi Bhabha's cultural hybridity theory, this research examines four dimensions. First, ALLDAY PROJECT creates new cultural spaces deconstructing existing gender divisions and genre boundaries in K-POP. Second, the group follows K-POP formats while creating new meanings through members' diverse cultural backgrounds. Third, strategic utilization of varied backgrounds-chaebol (Korean conglomerate) family member, contemporary dancer, Korean-American choreographer, hip-hop rapper, and survival show participant-presents a gender-transcendent group model. Fourth, creative reinterpretation of 1990s co-ed group traditions from contemporary perspectives suggests future directions for K-POP development. These findings show that K-POP is evolving into a hybrid platform where diverse identities intersect, suggesting an inclusive direction for future K-POP development.
