In metaphysics, the special composition question (SCQ) is a problem that deals with the conditions under which objects are constructed in metaphysics. There have been several answers to the special composition question such as universalism and specialism, but there are still no definite answers that scholars generally agree on. In this article, we will focus on the distinction between Chad Carmichael's event-based object and lump-like object among answers to special composed question. In particular, he suggests participating in an event as active as a concept used to classify the elements constituting the event. I will point out that such a distinction cannot provide an appropriate answer to randomness. Therefore, I will talk about additional criteria that must be further examined in his discussion. The part is regarded as a component of the whole by an appropriate relationship, which is unity. In order to ensure that the parts are soundly combined with each other, it is necessary to review the phenomenal characteristics that occur when two or more objects are composed with each other. To this end, unity will be justified by an overlap relationship between the object and other objects. and also, an appropriate overlap relationship model will be presented and the model will be applied in real cases.
