Purpose: This study emphasizes that research ethics significantly impact not only individual moral judgments but also the trust of the academic community and society as a whole. Research design, data, and methodology: It explores ethical dilemmas faced by researchers through a multidisciplinary approach, incorporating psychological and sociological perspectives. Results: The study presents the following key findings. First, from a psychological perspective, it analyzes how researchers' psychological motivations influence ethical decision-making and proposes strategies to mitigate psychological mechanisms such as self-justification and moral disengagement. Second, from a sociological perspective, it examines how research ethics are shaped by the norms of academic communities and institutions, as well as how power dynamics and structural factors influence research misconduct. Additionally, it suggests establishing systems to ensure fairness and independence in research processes and evaluations, along with emphasizing the importance of ethical leadership and role modeling. Conclusions: By adopting a multidisciplinary approach, this study provides a comprehensive understanding of research ethics issues, supports researchers in fulfilling their ethical responsibilities, and explores ways to enhance research integrity and trustworthiness. Future research should analyze concrete cases across various academic fields and conduct empirical studies to further improve the practical implementation of research ethics.
