Examining the Practical Approaches to Strengthening Party Building During the Nationwide War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and Their Contemporary Implications

During the Nationwide War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Communist Party of China (CPC), under the dual mission of national salvation and self-renewal, focused on the core issue of “how to maintain the character of the proletarian vanguard in complex struggles.” It strengthened Party building primarily in the realms of ideology, politics, organization, and conduct : ideologically, it broke the constraints of dogmatism through theoretical autonomy; politically, it safeguarded class stance with strategic flexibility; organizationally, it prevented heterogeneous infiltration through strict standards; and in conduct, it upheld the original aspiration of governance by staying rooted among the people. Systematically reviewing and summarizing the valuable experiences of this period aims to achieve their contemporary transformation : optimizing the overall effectiveness of purity-building by establishing an institutional framework for self-revolution; reinforcing the leading role of political construction with a clear-cut political stance; ensuring innovative theories are deeply understood and embraced through practice-rooted ideological arming; forging a vanguard force with principles emphasizing both quality and quantity in organization; and consolidating long-term mechanisms against corruption through unwavering efforts to improve conduct. Such an endeavor undoubtedly holds theoretical value and practical significance for advancing the great project of Party building in the new era in greater depth.
