Purpose: This study explores the educational potential of the film Jojo Rabbit in child and mental health nursing education, with an emphasis on holistic understanding, empathy, and critical thinking. Methods: The film was analyzed through the lens of the nursing metaparadigm—human, environment, health, and nursing—and evaluated against four core film-based nursing education concepts: student-centered learning, experiential learning, reflective learning, and problem-solving learning. Results: Jojo Rabbit portrays a young boy’s psychological trauma, loss, and growth during World War II. The film enables nursing students to indirectly experience psychological crises, environmental and familial influences, and the provision of holistic, empathetic care. It fosters empathy, clinical reasoning, self-reflection, and ethical decision-making. Conclusion: Incorporating Jojo Rabbit into nursing education supports the development of patient-centered care and professional identity, particularly in relation to psychosocial challenges in child health. Further research on diverse films, assessment methods, and educational outcomes is recommended to validate the role of film media in nursing pedagogy.
