Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the integrated influence of psychological, educational, and ethical factors on nurses’ clinical competence. As modern healthcare environments demand higher professionalism, understanding these multidimensional factors is crucial for improving nursing quality and patient safety. Methods: A descriptive literature review was conducted to examine previous studies related to nurses’ clinical competence and its associated psychological, educational, and ethical variables. Relevant articles were retrieved from Korean academic databases including KISS, RISS, NDSL, and KMbase. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, selected studies were reviewed and analyzed in terms of design, participants, variables, and outcomes. Results: The findings showed that psychological stability, practical education, and ethical nursing competence significantly influence clinical performance. Psychological distress and poor conflict management lowered clinical competence, while resilience and collaborative communication enhanced it. Simulation-based learning, self-directed education, and ethical decision-making ability contributed positively to professional performance and retention intention. Conclusion: Nurses’ clinical competence can be strengthened through the integration of psychological well-being, practical education, and ethical capability. Organizational support for mental health, institutionalized ethics education, and practice-oriented learning are essential for sustainable professional growth. Future research should explore causal relationships among these factors and develop integrated intervention programs applicable in clinical settings.
