An Analysis of Theoretical Foundation, Contemporary Value, and Theoretical Limitations of Western Ecological Marxism

Since the 1960s, ecological and environmental issues have become increasingly severe, attracting global attention. At this time, a trend of thought that links ecology with Marxism－Western ecological Marxism － emerged. It not only responded to the ecological crisis at that time but also had a significant impact on addressing the ecological crisis, providing a theoretical source for solving global environmental problems. This paper analyzes the background of the emergence, theoretical foundation, contemporary value, and theoretical limitations of Western ecological Marxism from four aspects, obtaining a certain degree of comprehensive understanding of Western ecological Marxism and its influence on contemporary ecological concepts.

自20 世纪60 年代以后，生态环境问题日益严重，引起了全球性的广泛关注；此时一种将生态与马克思主义相关联的思潮——西方生态学马克思主义应运而生；它不仅是对当时生态危机的回应，也为生态危机的应对产生了重要的影响，为我们解决全球性的环境问题提供理论来源。本文通过对西方生态学马克思主义的产生背景、理论基石、时代价值及理论局限四个方面进行分析，获得了对西方生态学马克思主义一定程度上的完整认知以及对当代生态理念的影响力度的了解。
