중국어에서 전치사의 목적어가 주제화되는 경우 전치사가 좌초되지 않으며, 전치사구의 통합성을 유지하기 위해 전치사구 자체를 유지하거나 전치사구를 삭제하는 특징이 있다. 본 연구는 중국어 주제문 내 전치사구 삭제 현상이 특정 의미유형과 어떤 관련성을 맺고 있는지 알아보기 위해 의미지도 모형을 활용하였다. 구체적으로는 주제문 내 전치사구 삭제 현상에 대해 표준중국어를 포함한 28종 중국의 방언에서의 상황을 조사하였다. 이 고찰 결과를 토대로 범 방언적 개념공간을 구축하였고, 각 방언이 분포하는 의미유형 간의 연속선상의 배열 관계를 통해 몇 가지 함의적 보편성을 도출할 수 있었다.
When the object of the preposition is topicalized, preposition-stranding is not permitted in Chinese. Instead, the prepositional phrase as a whole is either retained or deleted to preserve its structural integrity. This study employs the semantic map model to investigate the correlation between the prepositional phrase deletion in topicalized constructions and specific semantic types in Chinese. To this end, the research examines prepositional phrase deletion in 28 dialects of Chinese, including Mandarin, and constructs a cross-dialectal conceptual space. Through examining the continuum of semantic types represented by each dialect, the study identifies several implicational universals.
