基于面子理论视角下汉语拒绝语研究

A Study of Chinese Refusals from the Perspective of Face Theory

상호 문화적 의사소통 환경에서 거절은 자칫하면 의사소통 장애와 오해를 불러일으키기 쉬운 고위험 언어 행위이다. 이는 주로 체면 보호와 문화적 인지 차이와 관련이 깊다. 본고는 Brown & Levinson의 체면 이론과 E. Hall의 고맥락/저맥락 이론을 기반으로, 이론적 기초, 문화적 특성, 언어 유형 및 의사소통 실제라는 네 가지 관점에서 중국어 거절 표현을 체계적으로 연구했다. 먼저, 거절 표현 연구의 이론적 흐름과 국내외 연구 현황을 정리하고 분석 틀을 구축했다. 다음으로, 체면 개념과 고맥락 문화에 기반하여 함축적이고 완곡한 표현 경향을 포함한 중국어 거절 표현의 문화적 맥락 특성을 탐구했다. 이어서, 중국어 거절 표현의 주요 유형과 표현 전략을 정리하고, 대외 한어 교재 및 코퍼스 사례와 결합하여 그 화용론적 특징과 맥락 적응성을 분석했다. 마지막으로, 제2언어 습득 관점에서 학습자들이 거절 표현 사용 시 겪는 어려움과 오류를 논의하고, 상호 문화 교육 및 의사소통에서의 전략적 제언을 제시했다. 본고는 중국어 국제 교육에 문화적 이해를 위한 지원을 제공하고, 중국어 화용론 연구의 이론 및 실제 경로를 풍부하게 하는 것을 목표로 한다.

In the context of cross-cultural communication, refusals, as a high-risk speech act, often involve face protection and cultural cognitive differences, easily leading to communicative barriers and misunderstandings. Based on Brown & Levinson’s Face Theory and E. Hall’s High- and Low-Context Theory, this paper systematically examines Chinese refusals from four dimensions: theoretical foundations, cultural characteristics, linguistic typology, and communicative practices. First, the study reviews the theoretical framework and current research status of refusal strategies domestically and internationally, establishing an analytical model. Second, from the perspectives of face concepts and high-context culture, it explores the cultural contextual features of Chinese refusals, including tendencies toward indirectness and euphemism. Subsequently, the paper categorizes the main types and expressive strategies of Chinese refusals, analyzing their pragmatic features and contextual adaptability through examples from Chinese as a Foreign Language (CFL) textbooks and corpus data. Finally, from the perspective of second language acquisition, it discusses learners difficulties and errors in using refusal strategies and proposes strategic suggestions for cross-cultural teaching and communication. This study aims to provide cultural insights for international Chinese language education and enrich the theoretical and practical approaches to Chinese pragmatics research.
