『역어유해』는 조선시기에 편찬된 중한대역사전으로서 주로 중국어 어휘 학습에 사용되었다. 『역어유해』에 관한 연구는 그동안 적지 않게 이루어졌으나 음운학과 어휘의 역사적 고찰에 많이 치우쳐 온 점에 비추어 본고는 사전학적 시각으로 『역어유해』의 뜻풀이에 대하여 다루었다. 본고는 고도서본을 기준으로 『역어유해』 표제어의 뜻풀이 방식, 뜻풀이에서의 언어와 문자의 사용, 표제어의 분류와 배열, 그리고 뜻풀이에서 보이는 문제들에 대하여 분석하였으며, 사전 편찬의 각도에서 학습서로서의 『역어유해』의 특징과 가치를 밝히고자 노력하였다.
Yeogeoyuhea is a Sino-Korean translation dictionary compiled during the Korean Period, which has been mainly used to learn Chinese vocabulary. At present, the research of this dictionary mainly focuses on the diachronic study of phonology and vocabulary. In view of this, this paper examines the issue of the interpretation of Yeogeoyuhea from the perspective of lexicography, which is relatively weak at present. It specifically analyzes and summarizes the modes of interpretation, the use of language and text in interpretation, classification and sorting of title words, as well as the problems existing in the interpretation etc. with a focus on “ancient books” as the main research object. This paper attempts to interpret the characteristics and value of it as a learner’s dictionary from the perspective of dictionary compilation.
