The variant forms have many type of character components that have same form which forms is non-charaters on principle. There are many another such as this type, it says that is entered into general use. The basis methods of this type variants forms have several pattens, that is add or drop character stroke to regular script, and transform or combine of character stroke of regular script.
在异体字中偏旁是由原偏旁转变为其他形态而成的，且此形态大部分不能独立成为文字。其中变化后的形态固定的，该类型异体字的制成并不仅使用最基本的笔划增加或省略的方法，还有使用笔划变形合并的方法。并且笔划变形存在水平或竖直形态的直线变为斜线形态或与之相反，以及方形变为三角形形态的。还有一个特别的现象是，在此变形过程中，既有笔划的省略，也有在与之相反的笔划的增加，但是虽然有笔划的合并，却不存在与之相反的由笔划分离而成的情况。
