The development from shi-yi to causative of “jiao” sentence in Chinese The main purpose of this thesis is to discuss the development from shi-yi to causative of “jiao” sentence in Chinese. First we discuss the notion of shi-yi and causative, then discuss the process of them from three stages. In the end we discuss the reason on the decline of manipulative causative.
