[증례보고] 기능의학 증례 보고: 알레르기 비염 및 알레르기성 피부 증상을 동반한 환자에서 히스타글로불린, 영양치료 및 5R 프로그램의 효과

Case report of functional medicine: effect of histaglobulin, nutrition therapy, and the 5R program in a patient with allergic rhinitis and allergic skin manifestations

알레르기 비염, 알레르기 천식, 아토피 피부염, 알레르기 결막염, 만성 두드러기, 음식 알레르기 등 현대 사회에서 알레르기 질환의 유병률은 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 질환들은 만성적 특성으로 인해 임상 경과와 치료 결과가 만족스럽지 못한 경우가 많다. 히스타민은 과거 알레르기 반응을 유발하는 물질로 이해되었으나, 최근에는 면역 및 염증 조절에 관여하는 사이토카인의 하나로 재조명되고 있으며, 생성, 분비, 분해의 균형이 깨질 경우 다양한 전신 증상이 나타날 수 있다. 이러한 히스타민 불균형을 조절하기 위한 기능의학적 접근으로 경구 및 주사 영양 치료, 위장관 기능 회복을 목표로 한 5R프로그램(5R program), 히스타글로불린(histaglobulin) 등이 활용되고 있다. 본 증례에서는 알레르기 비염과 알레르기 관련 피부 증상을 보인 환자에서 이러한 기능의학적 치료들을 병행한 후 임상 증상이 호전된 사례를 보고하며, 해당 치료 전략의 임상적 유용성을 고찰하고자 한다.

The prevalence and burden of allergic diseases such as allergic rhinitis, allergic asthma, atopic dermatitis, allergic conjunctivitis, chronic urticaria, and food allergies have been increasing in modern society. However, these conditions remain chronic in nature, and their clinical outcomes are often suboptimal. Histamine, traditionally recognized as a mediator of allergic reactions and anaphylaxis, has recently been re-evaluated as a cytokine involved in immune and inflammatory regulation. When the balance among histamine synthesis, secretion, and degradation is disrupted, a wide range of systemic symptoms may occur. Functional medicine approaches aimed at modulating histamine imbalance include oral and intravenous nutrition therapy, the 5R program—a gastrointestinal restoration protocol—and histaglobulin, a histamine-immunoglobulin complex. In this case report, we describe a patient with allergic rhinitis and allergy-related skin symptoms who demonstrated significant clinical improvement following a combination of oral and intravenous nutrition therapy, the 5R program, and histaglobulin injections. This case highlights the potential utility of integrative therapeutic strategies in the management of histamine-related allergic conditions.
