베트남 결혼이주여성의 한국생활에서의 행복 경험

Experiences of Happiness in the Lives of Vietnamese Marriage-Immigrant Women in Korea

본 연구는 베트남 결혼이주여성의 한국생활에서의 행복 경험에 대한 그 의미를 질적 사례연구를 적용해 이해할 목적에서 수행했다. 자료수집을 위해 선정 기준에 부합한 연구참여자 5명을 대상으로 각각 3회기씩 일대일 심층면담을 수행해 자료를 확보하였다. 수집된 자료에 대해서는 Bryman과 Burgess(2002)가 제시한 사례 내 분석과 사례 간 분석을 실시했다. 베트남 결혼이주여성의 한국생활에서 경험하는 행복에 대해 분석한 결과, ‘초라함에서 변화된 당당함’, ‘새로운 인생을 시작하도록 기회를 준 땅’, ‘함께함과 나눔으로 더 커지는 만족’이라는 3개의 상위주제가 확인되었다. 이를 바탕으로 국내 베트남 결혼이주여성의 행복 경험에 관한 근거 제공과 더불어 해당 인구집단을 위한 사회복지 차원의 구체적 지원 방안을 제시하였다.

This study aimed to deeply explore and understand the meaning of happiness in the lives of Vietnamese marriage-immigrant women in Korea. Data were collected through three one-on-one, in-depth interviews with five participants who met the selection criteria. The collected data were analyzed within and between cases, following the methods suggested by Bryman and Burgess (2002). The analysis of Vietnamese marriage-immigrant women’s experiences of happiness in Korea revealed three overarching themes: ‘A transformation from poverty to confidence,’ ‘A land that offered opportunities to start a new life,’ and ‘Increased satisfaction through togetherness and sharing.’ This study provides evidence for the happiness experiences of Vietnamese marriage-immigrant women in Korea, and based on this evidence, suggests specific support measures at the social welfare level to assist them.
