애니메이션 영화 <케이팝 데몬 헌터스(K-pop Demon Hunters)>를 활용한 한국문화교육 방안 연구 - 이주배경 청소년 학습자를 대상으로

A Study on Approaches to Korean Cultural Education Using the Film <K-pop Demon Hunters> - Focusing on Youth Learners with Immigrant Backgrounds

이 연구는 이주배경 청소년 학습자를 대상으로 애니메이션 영화 <케이팝 데몬 헌터스>를 활용하여 문화 리터러시 향상을 위한 활동 중심의 한국문화교육 방안을 탐색하였다. 이 영화는 K-pop을 중심으로 현대와 전통이 결합된 한류 기반의 문화콘텐츠로서 학습자에게 높은 몰입감과 흥미를 제공한다는 점에서 교육적 가치가 크다. 본 연구는 성취 문화, 행동 문화, 관념 문화의 세 범주를 중심으로 영화 속 한국문화 요소를 분석하고, 이를 상호문화교육 관점에서 <영화 감상 및 문화 인지→문화 해석→문화 비교→문화 창조 및 내재화>의 4단계 교수·학습 모형으로 설계하였다. 이러한 수업 설계는 문화 지식 중심의 정보 전달에 그치지 않고 학습자가 한국문화를 주도적으로 해석하고 재구성하며 창의적으로 표현할 수 있는 문화 리터러시의 역량을 함양하는 데 초점을 두었다. 이를 통해 문화콘텐츠 감상 중심의 기존 문화교육을 넘어서 학습자가 능동적으로 참여하고 적용할 수 있는 새로운 한국문화교육의 방향성을 탐색했다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 또한 현장의 한국어 교사가 실제 수업 현장에서 적용 가능한 실천적 교수 모형을 제시하였으며, K-컬처 기반의 새로운 한국문화교육 패러다임 논의로 확장하는 데 기여할 수 있다.

This study explored an activity-centered approach to Korean culture education aimed at enhancing cultural literacy among adolescent learners with migrant backgrounds by utilizing the animated film <K-Pop Demon Hunters>. As a hybrid form that combines animation and film, <K-Pop Demon Hunters> offers a high level of immersion and engagement, making it valuable as an educational medium. Set in contemporary Korean society, the film incorporates diverse cultural elements that bridge tradition and modernity. Focusing on the three categories of cultural achievement, behavior, and ideology, this study analyzed the film’s cultural features and designed a four-stage instructional model—Film Viewing and Cultural Awareness → Cultural Interpretation → Cultural Comparison → Cultural Creation and Internalization-based on an intercultural education framework. This model moves beyond the transmission of cultural knowledge to encourage learners to interpret, reconstruct, and creatively express cultural meanings. The study demonstrates that this approach enables learners to engage actively with Korean culture, fostering cultural literacy and identity formation. Furthermore, it presents a practical instructional framework applicable in real Korean language classrooms and contributes to expanding discussions on K-culture-based cultural education.
