토픽 모델링을 이용한 교육치위생학의 연구 동향 분석

Topic Modeling-Based Analysis of Research Trends in Dental Hygiene Education

본 연구는 교육치위생학 분야의 연구 동향을 분석하여 연구의 방향성과 학문적 정체성에 기초자료를 제공하는 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2000년 1월부터 2025년 8월까지 게재된 논문 345편을 수집하여 데이터 전처리, 키워드 빈도 분석, 토픽 모델링(Topic Modeling)을 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 교육치위생학 연구는 총 여섯 가지 주제로 분류되었다. 첫째, 청소년 및 청년층의 구강건강 행태와 예방, 둘째, 아동의 구강건강 관리와 가정·학교·지역사회의 연계, 셋째, 치위생 교육에서의 실무 역량 개발, 넷째, 특수 대상자의 구강건강 관리 역량 강화, 다섯째, 고령자의 구강건강 관리, 여섯째, 임상 중심의 통합 교육과정과 전문 직업성 개발이다. 각 주제의 시사점을 바탕으로 향후 연구에서는 생애주기별 맞춤형 교육 전략과 통합교육과정 설계, 임상 역량 강화를 위한 표준화된 지속적 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구는 교육치위생학의 학문적 정체성 확립과 치과위생사의 전문성 강화에 기여할 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

This study analyzes research trends in dental hygiene education to provide foundational data for establishing its academic identity and research direction. A total of 345 papers published between January 2000 and August 2025 were analyzed through data preprocessing, keyword frequency analysis, and topic modeling. Six main research themes were identified. (1) oral health behaviors and prevention among adolescents and young adults; (2) oral health management for children in connection with families, schools, and communities; (3) development of practical competence in dental hygiene education; (4) enhancement of oral health management capabilities for special populations; (5) oral health care for the elderly; and (6) clinical-based integrated curricula and professional development. Future research should focus on designing life cycle–specific educational strategies, developing integrated curricula, and conducting standardized and continuous studies to strengthen clinical competence. This study contributes to defining the academic identity of dental hygiene education and promoting the professional advancement of dental hygienists.
