원거리/비접촉전투와 드론의 진화 방향

The Evolution of Long-Range/Uncontact Combat and Drones

현대 전장은 직접 교전을 최소화하고, 원거리에서 적의 전투력을 무력화하는 비접촉전투 개념으로 빠르게 전환되고 있다. 본 연구는 미(美) 육군 제25보병사단의 작전계획 「Killing What’s Killing Us」를 바탕으로 비접촉전투의 개념과 본질을 분석하고, 드론의 역할과 발전방향을 고찰하였다. 분석 결과, 드론은 낮은 비용과 높은 운용유연성을 갖춘 핵심 전력으로, 정찰·공격·전자전 등 모든 단계에서 중요한 역할을 수행한다. 비접촉전투의 성공을 위해서는 첫째, 드론 전개방식의 다영역화, 둘째, 안정적인 통신·네트워크 체계 구축, 셋째, 표준화 기반의 대량생산체계 마련이 필요하다. 본 연구는 우리 군이 드론 중심의 비접촉전투 역량을 강화하기 위한 제도적·기술적 방향을 제시한다.

Modern warfare is increasingly characterized by non-contact operations that neutralize enemy forces from a distance. Based on the U.S. Army 25th Infantry Division’s plan “Killing What’s Killing Us,” this study analyzes the concept of non-contact warfare and examines the evolving role of drones. The findings highlight drones as a core asset due to their cost efficiency and versatility in reconnaissance, strike, and electronic warfare. Three key conditions for effective non-contact warfare are proposed: multi-domain drone deployment, a robust communication and network system, and a standardized mass-production structure. This study provides strategic and technological implications for enhancing the Republic of Korea Army’s capability in drone-centered non-contact warfare.
