이 연구는 러시아 우회 경로로서 카스피해 횡단 국제운송루트(TITR)의 지정학적·지경학적 의미와 구조적 특성을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 최근 글로벌 공급망의 불안정성과 지정학적 긴장 속에서, 유럽과 아시아를 연결하는 기존 육상 운송로의 한계가 드러남에 따라, TITR이 새로운 물류 동맥으로 부상하고 있다. 본 연구는 문헌 검토와 구조적 분석을 통해 TITR의 출범 배경, 핵심 국가별 인프라 투자 현황, 그리고 복합운송 시스템의 구조적 과제와 경쟁력을 평가하였다. 또한, 지정학적 역동성과 강대국 간 이해관계 충돌, 러시아의 전략적 대응 등을 종합적으로 분석하여, TITR의 잠재력과 한계, 그리고 정책적 시사점을 도출하였다. 연구 결과, TITR은 공급망 다변화와 지정학적 리스크 회피에 중요한 역할을 수행할 수 있으나, 인프라 병목과 제도적 조율의 미비로 인해 실질적 경쟁력 확보에 한계가 존재함이 확인되었다. 본 연구는 유라시아 지역의 물류·지정학적 환경 변화에 대한 심층적 이해와 정책적 방향 제시에 기여할 것이다.

This study investigates the geopolitical and geoeconomic significance, as well as the structural characteristics, of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) as an alternative corridor circumventing Russia. In light of recent disruptions in global supply chains and intensifying geopolitical tensions, the limitations of existing land-based transport routes between Europe and Asia have become increasingly evident, thereby prompting the emergence of TITR as a strategically relevant logistics artery. Employing a combination of literature review and structural analysis, the research examines the historical context of TITR’s establishment, infrastructure investment trends among key participating countries, and the operational challenges and competitiveness of its multimodal transport framework. Additionally, the study offers a comprehensive assessment of geopolitical dynamics, inter-state rivalries among major powers, and Russia’s strategic responses, in order to delineate the corridor’s potential, limitations, and policy implications. The findings suggest that while TITR holds considerable promise for diversifying supply chains and mitigating geopolitical risks, its competitiveness remains constrained by infrastructural bottlenecks and insufficient institutional coordination. Consequently, the study recommends that stakeholder nations pursue systemic reforms, including the enhancement of integrated governance mechanisms, the advancement of digitalization, and the expansion of logistics infrastructure, to strengthen the corridor’s long-term viability and strategic utility. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the evolving logistics and geopolitical landscape across the Eurasian region and offers actionable insights for policy formulation.
