러시아에서의 K-컬처 확산과 수용: 산업적･문화적 함의를 중심으로

K-Culture Diffusion and Reception in Russia: Industrial and Cultural Implications

본 연구는 러시아에서 전개된 K-컬처의 확산을 산업적·문화적 함의의 이중적 틀 속에서 분석하고, 1990년 한러수교 이후 형성된 사회적 수용의 맥락과 그 변화 양상을 규명한다. 연구는 삼성의 볼쇼이 극장 후원, ‘야스나야 폴라나’ 문학상, 그리고 러시아 내 K-팝 커뮤니티의 확산 등 대표적 사례를 중심으로 K-컬처의 산업적 확장 메커니즘과 사회문화적 현지화 과정을 실증적으로 고찰하였다. 특히 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁으로 인해 서방의 경제 제재가 심화된 상황에서 나타난 이른바 ‘아시아 문화 붐’(Asian Culture Boom)은 지정학적 고립 속에서의 문화적 방향 전환과 공동체적 기반 연대 강화의 징후로 해석된다. 또한 인터넷과 소셜 네트워크 서비스, 특히 브콘탁테(Vkontakte)의 확산은 디지털 네트워킹과 팬덤 형성을 촉진함으로써 러시아 내 K-컬처의 자생적 확산을 가속화했다. 본 연구는 러시아의 K-컬처 지속가능성을 확보하기 위해 세대 및 지역 특성에 기반한 콘텐츠 전략, 고품질 번역과 현지화, 그리고 문화상대주의적 접근의 필요성을 제시한다. 이러한 전략적 접근은 K-컬처가 단순한 문화상춤의 차원을 넘어 러시아 사회에서 상호이해와 문화적 공존의 기반으로 발전하기 위한 실질적 방향성을 제시한다.

This study analyzes the diffusion of K-culture in Russia within a dual framework of industrial and cultural implications, examining the context of social acceptance formed since the establishment of diplomatic relations between South Korea and Russia in 1990 and its evolving patterns. The study empirically examines the industrial expansion mechanisms and sociocultural localization processes of K-culture, focusing on representative cases such as Samsung's sponsorship of the Bolshoi Theatre, the Yasnaya Polyana Literary Prize, and the proliferation of K-pop communities within Russia. Particularly, the so-called ‘Asian Culture Boom’ emerging amid intensified Western economic sanctions due to the Russia-Ukraine war is interpreted as a sign of cultural reorientation within geopolitical isolation and strengthened community-based solidarity. Furthermore, the proliferation of the internet and social networking services, particularly Vkontakte, accelerated the organic spread of K-culture within Russia by facilitating digital networking and fandom formation. This study proposes the necessity of content strategies based on generational and regional characteristics, high-quality translation and localization, and a culturally relativistic approach to ensure the sustainability of K-culture in Russia. This strategic approach offers a practical direction for K-culture to evolve beyond mere cultural exchange into a foundation for mutual understanding and cultural coexistence within Russian society.
