본 논문은 중국의 아프리카 전략이 ‘글로벌 사우스’ 협력 강화를 통해 트럼프 2기 행정부의 잠재적 정책 변화에 대응하고 글로벌 영향력을 확대하려는 다면적 접근 방식을 취하고 있음을 분석한다. 중국은 경제적, 안보적, 이념적 관여를 심화하며 아프리카를 다극화된 세계 질서 구축의 핵심축으로 삼고 있다. 특히, 트럼프 2기 행정부에서 예상되는 일방주의적이고 거래 중심적인 외교 정책을 펼칠 경우, 이는 미국의 아프리카 관여를 약화시키고 중국에게는 아프리카 국가들과의 연대를 강화할 기회를 제공할 수 있다. 본 연구는 중국의 진화하는 경제 모델, 안보 협력의 심화, 소프트 파워의 활용, 그리고 일대일로 이니셔티브(BRI)의 전략적 전환을 통해 아프리카와의 관계를 공고히 하는 과정을 면밀히 검토한다. 또한, 부채 문제와 같은 잠재적 취약점을 다루면서도, 아프리카 국가들이 이러한 강대국 경쟁 속에서 자국의 이익을 극대화하기 위해 다중 정렬(multi-alignment) 전략을 구사하는 주체적 행위자임을 강조한다. 궁극적으로, 중국의 아프리카 전략은 단순한 자원 확보를 넘어, 새로운 국제 질서를 형성하고 서구 중심의 헤게모니에 도전하려는 광범위한 지정학적 목표를 반영하고 있다.

This paper analyzes China's multifaceted approach to its Africa strategy, which aims to strengthen 'Global South' cooperation to counter potential policy shifts under a second Trump administration and expand its global influence. China is deepening its economic, security, and ideological engagement, positioning Africa as a key pillar in building a multipolar world order. A potential second Trump administration's anticipated unilateral and transactional foreign policy could weaken U.S. engagement in Africa, providing an opportunity for China to strengthen its solidarity with African nations. This study closely examines how China is solidifying its relationship with Africa through an evolving economic model, deepening security cooperation, leveraging soft power, and strategically shifting its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). It also addresses potential vulnerabilities, such as debt issues, while emphasizing that African nations are sovereign actors employing “multi-alignment” strategies to maximize their own interests amid great power competition. Ultimately, China's Africa strategy goes beyond mere resource acquisition, reflecting broader geopolitical goals of shaping a new international order and challenging Western-centric hegemony.
