시적 언어와 감성 공동체 형성: 정태춘 가사의 감성 구조와 공명 메커니즘 분석

Poetic Language and the Formation of Affective Communities: An Analysis of Emotional Structures and Resonance Mechanisms in the Lyrics of Jeong Tae-chun

본 연구는 정태춘의 자작 가사를 대상으로, 감정사회학과 공명 이론의 관점에서 시적 언어가 억압된 감성을 어떻게 발화하고 감성 공동체의 공명 구조를 형성하는지를 분석하였다. 연구 방법으로는 사라 아메드(S. Ahmed)의 ‘감정 방향성’과 아무트 로사((H. Rosa)의 ‘공명 구조’를 이론적 틀로 삼고, ‘감성 흐름의 다층성, 공명 촉발 요소, 감성 전이 구조, 사회적 확장성’을 기준으로 대표곡 10곡을 선별하였다. 선별의 정합성을 보완하기 위해, KNU 감성 사전 기반의 문장 단위 감정 점수와 Voyant Tools의 어휘 시각화를 활용한 정량 분석을 병행하였고, 질적 분석을 통해 억압, 저항, 슬픔, 연대 등의 감정 코드와 시어의 정서적 기능을 고찰하였다. 그 결과 정태춘의 가사는 발화되지 못한 감정을 시적 언어로 구조화하여 청자를 동일화의 위치가 아닌 증언자의 위치로 호명하며, 이를 통해 감정을 사회적 윤리의 차원으로 전환하는 양상을 보여주었다. 또한 감정은 즉각적으로 소비되지 않고 시적 상징과 침묵, 지연된 정서 반응을 통해 세대의 경계를 넘어 공유되는 ‘지속적·지연적 공명 구조’로 작동하는 것이 확인되었다. 이러한 분석은 정태춘 가사의 감성 구조가 억압된 기억을 공론장으로 전환시키는 동시에 세대와 시대를 넘어 확장 가능한 공명 메커니즘을 내포하고 있음을 드러내며, 예술적 발화가 감정의 정치성과 공공성 형성에 기여할 수 있음을 시사한다.

This study analyses the self-written lyrics of South Korean singer-songwriter Jeong Tae-chun through the lens of the sociology of emotions and resonance theory, exploring how poetic language articulates repressed feelings and constructs affective structures of resonance that shape an emotional community. As its theoretical framework, the research draws on Sara Ahmed’s notion of the “orientation of emotions” and Hartmut Rosa’s concept of the “structure of resonance,” and selects ten representative songs according to four criteria: multi-layered affective flows, resonance-triggering elements, structures of affective transfer through metaphor and symbolism, and social extensibility. To enhance the validity of selection, the study incorporates quantitative methods—sentence-level sentiment scores based on the KNU Sentiment Dictionary and lexical visualisation via Voyant Tools—alongside qualitative analysis of emotional codes such as repression, resistance, sorrow, and solidarity, as well as the affective functions of poetic expressions. The findings show that Jeong’s lyrics structure unspoken emotions into poetic language, positioning the listener not as an assimilated subject but as a witness, thereby recontextualising emotions at the level of social ethics. Moreover, emotions are not consumed immediately but operate as a “sustained and deferred structure of resonance,” shared across generational boundaries through poetic symbols, silences, and delayed affective responses. This analysis demonstrates that the affective structures of Jeong’s lyrics simultaneously transform repressed memories into a public affective discourse and embody resonance mechanisms expandable across generations and historical contexts, thereby suggesting that aesthetic expression contributes to the formation of emotional publicness and the political significance of feelings.
