유관순 위인 그림책의 문학적 특성에 대한 분석 - 2001~2024년 출판된 그림책을 중심으로

Analysis of the Literacy Characteristics of Biographical Picture Books on Yu Gwan-sun : Focusing on Picture Books Published from 2001 to 2024

본 연구는 유관순 위인 그림책에 나타난 유관순 일대기와 문학적 특성이 어떠한지 살펴보는 데 연구의 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 분석대상인 유관순 위인 그림책을 추출하기 위해 국립어린이청소년도서관과 S시 G구 정보도서관의 유관순 위인 그림책 목록을 수집하여 총 5권의 그림책을 분석 대상으로 하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유관순 위인 그림책은 유관순의 출생과 성장에서 5가지, 이화학당에서의 생활에서 9가지의 총 14가지 에피소드를 채택하였고, 유관순의 만세 운동과 감옥생활, 순국에서 46가지 에피소드를 채택하였다. 둘째, 유관순 위인 그림책 5권에서 유관순의 애국정신 계승과 같은 주요 업적 이외에도 유관순의 지도력, 실행력, 정의감, 성고정관념 탈피, 시대적 배경에 대한 정보 제공 등의 주제를 드러내고 있다. 또한 플롯에서 순환적 형식, 단선적 형식, 연쇄적 형식을 활용한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 향후 유관순 위인 그림책의 제작 및 교육적 활용에 대한 실제적 제안점을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

This study aims to examine the life story and literary characteristics of Yu Gwan-sun as represented in biographical picture books. For the analysis, lists of Yu Gwan-sun picture books were collected from the National Library for Children and Young Adults and the G Information Library in S District, S City, and a total of five picture books were selected as research materials. The results are as follows. First, the analyzed books included 14 episodes related to Yu Gwan-sun’s birth, growth, and life at Ewha School, and 46 episodes describing her participation in the Independence Movement, imprisonment, and martyrdom. Second, in addition to Yu Gwan-sun’s patriotic spirit, the picture books revealed various themes such as leadership, initiative, sense of justice, breaking gender stereotypes, and providing historical context. Moreover, the narrative structures used in these works included circular, linear, and chain types. It is anticipated that the findings of this study will offer practical implications for the future development of Yu Gwan-sun biographical picture books and their educational applications.
