A Re-Examination of the Yan’an Spirit from the Perspective of Marxist Anthropology

The Yan’an Spirit is rich in humanistic value. Marx’s “theory of the essence of man” constitutes the logical starting point of “serving the people wholeheartedly”, his “theory of human needs” forms the driving force for “self-reliance and hard work”, his “theory of human value” provides scientific guidance for promoting the Yan’an Spirit, and his “theory of human development” constitutes the ultimate goal of the Yan’an Spirit. A thorough exploration of the Marxist humanistic implications of the Yan’an Spirit is conducive to deepening the understanding of the spiritual spectrum of Chinese Communists and giving full play to the spiritual leading role of the Yan’an Spirit in Chinese-style modernization.
