Study on Utilization of Asan Historical and Cultural Area

본 연구는 충남 아산시의 풍부한 역사문화자원을 지역공동체의 정체성 형성과 지속가능한 발전, 그리고 지역 공동체 회복을 위한 자산으로 활용할 방안을 모색한다. 2020년 제정된 ｢역사문화권 정비 특별법｣을 배경으로, 기존 연구들이 문헌 중심의 정체성 분석에 머물러 실천 전략과 시민 참여 측면이 부족하다는 문제의식에서 출발하였다. 이에 본 연구는 법적·제도적 범위의 ‘역사문화권’ 개념을 넘어, 아산 지역고유의 역사문화자원이 갖는 정체성을 재조명하고, SNS 데이터와 언론 보도 등 사회적 지표를 통해 대중의 인식을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 이러한 분석 결과를 토대로 지역 정체성 강화와 시민참여 확대, 문화콘텐츠 개발과 거버넌스 구축 등을 핵심으로 하는 아산역사문화권 활성화 전략을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 지역의 역사문화자원을 현재의 삶과 연결된 ‘살아 있는 문화유산’으로 전환함으로써 지역 정체성을 공고히 하고 지역사회에 활력을 불어넣는 새로운 활용 모델을 제안하는 데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

This study explores strategies to utilize the rich historical and cultural resources of Asan City in Chungcheongnam-do as assets for shaping community identity and driving sustainable development. Grounded in the 2020 Special Act on Maintenance of Historical and Cultural Areas, it addresses the concern that previous studies remained limited to literature-based identity analyses and lacked practical strategies and public participation. Accordingly, this research reexamines the identity of Asan’s historical-cultural sphere from the perspective of cultural resources, and empirically analyzes public perception through social indicators such as social media data and press coverage. Based on these analyses, the study proposes strategies to revitalize Asan’s historical-cultural sphere, focusing on strengthening local identity and citizen engagement, developing cultural content, and establishing collaborative governance. This approach is expected to help transform Asan’s historical and cultural assets into “living cultural heritage” connected with contemporary life, thereby solidifying local identity and revitalizing the local community. In doing so, it offers a new model for the utilization of regional cultural heritage.
