Background/Objectives: This study analyzed research trends in fashion design development in Korea from 2000 to 2024. The temporal changes in key themes, design targets, sources, and expression methods were investigated using text mining, semantic network analysis, and content analysis of scholarly articles. Methods: A total of 372 scholarly articles on Korean fashion design development, published between 2000 and 2024, were analyzed using text mining, semantic network analysis, and content analysis to identify temporal trends in research themes, design targets, sources, and expression methods. Results: Publications increased sharply after 2010, with the output in the last decade exceeding that of the 2000s by more than tenfold. Previous studies emphasized traditional cultural motifs and decorative aesthetics. Over time, research has shifted toward integrating digital technologies, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing, such as three-dimensional (3D) printing. Semantic network analysis indicated that traditional designs remained central, whereas new clusters emerged around digital fashion, sustainable practices, and cultural hybridization. Design targets were expanded from women’s apparel to include accessories and textiles, reflecting interdisciplinary convergence. Design sources have broadened from traditional culture to contemporary popular culture, art, global influence, and conceptual elements related to sustainability and technology. Expression methods have evolved from two-dimensional sketching to hybrid approaches that combine 3D modeling, digital simulations, and prototyping, exhibiting a greater integration of digital tools in the creative process. Conclusion/Implications: This study highlighted the maturation of collaborative research structures and the transition of fashion design development into a multidisciplinary field encompassing technology, social values, and industrial relevance. These insights provided valuable guidance for future research directions, fashion design education, and industry practices, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and digital competence in shaping the future of fashion design development in Korea.
