This study examines the relationship between improvements in PBL-based TOEIC learners’ accuracy in RC Part 5 subtypes (Form, Grammar, and Lexis) and their gains in LC and RC scores. The findings reveal that form awareness has the strongest correlation with overall achievement, while grammar supports sentence-level accuracy and lexis plays a supplementary role in meaning development. These results suggest that form awareness functions as a prerequisite for grammar and vocabulary learning and facilitates transfer to higher-level language processing. Therefore, TOEIC instruction should move beyond grammar- and vocabulary-centered approaches and emphasize foundational language-processing training focused on form awareness
